This is a February 2026 video from The Urban Rescue Ranch in which Ben Christie prepares the animals for a hard freeze, then checks on them after the ice.

Ben says it is only about 60 degrees and drizzling, but the real danger is freezing rain, not the cold itself. He walks Kevin into the barn, withholds feed on purpose so he can herd the others inside, and shows Boo Boo's antlers coming in. Chapters follow a zebra and donkey rescue, the first night, breaking ice for water and rescuing a deer.

The title promises a lasso, so watch for the deer rescue chapter. What gets me is how much of this is just logistics: water, shelter and counting heads.

Ben Christie's channel, The Urban Rescue Ranch, has about 3.4 million subscribers, and his nonprofit is [Waco Wildlife Rescue](https://wacowildliferescue.org/), which rehabilitates injured and orphaned native wildlife. 100% of merch proceeds fund the mission, and donations go through the site. A subscribe on his channel is a tiny, free way to say thanks.

What is your plan when a freeze is forecast?
