The Big Bopper: Sabine Pass Native Behind Chantilly Lace
Jiles Perry Richardson Jr., the Big Bopper, was born in Sabine Pass, Texas, on October 24, 1930. He worked as a Beaumont disc jockey and recorded "Chantilly Lace" before dying in the 1959 Iowa plane crash.
